Lawn Fertilization & Weed Control

A&P Lawn Care & More runs full fertilization and weed control programs across Liberty County, Bryan County, and the broader Coastal Georgia market. Our six-round annual program is timed to soil temperature, grass growth, and weed germination cycles — not the calendar. The first round goes down in late February with a pre-emergent herbicide that stops crabgrass and other summer annual weeds before they sprout.

Coastal Georgia lawns need different fertilization than what most national big-box brands recommend. Sandy coastal soil drains nitrogen quickly, and our common warm-season grasses — Bermuda, Centipede, St. Augustine, and Zoysia — each have very different nitrogen tolerance. Centipede in particular gets damaged by over-fertilization. We use commercial slow-release blends calibrated to your specific grass type and soil test results, applied with calibrated broadcast spreaders for even coverage.

Weed control is built into every round. Two pre-emergent applications per year (February and November) prevent the bulk of summer and winter weeds. Post-emergent spot-treatments through the season target whatever breaks through — dollarweed, sedges, dandelions, and broadleaf weeds. Done right, your lawn gets thicker every season as the grass crowds out weed pressure.
